BJP MLA Bishnu Sethi passes away at 61

Bhubaneswar, Sep 19: BJP MLA from Bhadrak district's Dhamnagar and Deputy BJP Legislature Party Leader Bishnu Sethi is no more. He was 61.

Sethi passed away while undergoing treatment for kidney-related ailments at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Bhubanewar here this morning. He had been in the ICU for a month till he breathed his last, informed Assistant Superintendent Prabhas Ranjan Tripathy.

While family members and relatives were present at his death bed, MLAs and leaders belonging to the BJP and other political parties have rushed to the hospital to pay their last respect, according to reports.  

A three-time MLA, Sethi had first win the Chandbali seat in 2000. He was  appointed Chairman, Cashew Corporaton in 2006. Presently, he was Deputy BJP LP Leader in the Odisdha Assembly.

Besides politics, he was a litterateur. He was editor of a magazine, Ghasafhulla.

Though, he had made it to the prestigious Odisha Administrative Service, he prefered to take to politices to serve people.

His poetic presentation in State Assembly was very unique.
